Directions

For Ages 12 and Up: FOR RELIEF OF IRREGULARITY: 5 capsules with 240 ml of liquid up to 3 times daily. CHOLESTEROL LOWERING AND HEART HEALTH: 5 capsules with 240 ml of liquid 4 times daily. SUPPORTING HEALTHY BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS: 5 capsules with 240 ml of liquid 4 times daily. Swallow 1 capsule at a time and take in an upright position

Warnings and precautions

Keep this and all medication out of reach of children. Do not use if you have abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, failure to defecate following the use of another laxative, or if you have a sudden change in bowel habits persisting for 2 weeks. Consult your doctor if you have insulin dependant (or Type 1) diabetes. If constipation persists for more than seven days, symptoms worsen, or if rectal bleeding occurs, stop use and consult your doctor as these may be signs of a serious condition. Metamucil may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Do not take a laxative within 2 hours of taking any other medicine. Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to sell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Do not take if you have difficulty swallowing. If you have chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking the product, seek immediate medical attention. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide).
